Indonesia is committed to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and has set Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) target of up to 29% emission reduction by 2030. To achieve this ambition, it will have to embark on energy transition plan.
This report highlights the work and findings of MDE Initiative. It elaborates how to achieve the ambition of Net-Zero Emissions (NZE) through decarbonization of national electricity sector. By calculating the different level of ambitions, MDE proposes different scenarios of electricity decarbonization covering while putting into account different available resources today such as coal, natural gas, solar, oil, biomass, and others.
