IBC Reaffirms Private-Sector Role in ASEAN Energy Security, Continues Dialogue with Ministry of Foreign Affairs

IBC’s Director for Membership and Corporate Affairs, Diana Permana and Vice President for International Affairs and Operations, Noto Suoneto held a working lunch in Jakarta with the Director for ASEAN Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Ibu Adhyanti Sardanarini Wirajuda, together with the Minister Counsellor Bapak Meugah Suriyan Sanggamara.

The meeting provided an opportunity for IBC to update the Ministry on its ongoing initiatives to strengthen energy security within the ASEAN framework, including efforts toward regional fuel stockpiling as committed during the ASEAN Leaders’ Retreat in Cebu, the Philippines.

IBC reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising and strengthening private-sector support for ASEAN’s efforts to build greater energy resilience, ensuring that businesses can play a meaningful role in advancing regional energy security and preparedness.

The discussion also covered the continuation of the ASEAN Incorporated Dialogue, an initiative first launched last year in Kuala Lumpur during Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship. The inaugural dialogue brought together business leaders, regional thinkers and experts, as well as key government officials from across Southeast Asia to foster deeper public-private dialogue on ASEAN’s economic and strategic priorities.
