The Indonesian Business Council (IBC) convened a high-level Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on “Financial Development for Strong and Equitable Growth”, bringing together experts and member representatives to discuss strategies for strengthening depth, access, and efficiency in Indonesia’s financial sector.

Led by IBC’s research team with contributions from Kahlil Rowter and Prof. Telisa Falianty, the session drew on IBC’s policy papers covering financial product innovation, MSME credit access, banking sector consolidation, and credit rating improvements. These papers form part of IBC’s broader financial development agenda aligned with long-term economic growth goals.

The forum also served as a platform for IBC members, representing major business and industry sectors—to share first-hand insights on the current state of Indonesia’s financial system and its impact on national competitiveness. Their input will help refine recommendations to ensure they are both practical and impactful.

This FGD is part of IBC’s ongoing research initiative, “Financial Development for Strong and Equitable Growth”, designed to deliver strategic, evidence-based policy recommendations for the government. The ultimate aim is to strengthen the nation’s financial infrastructure, improve market efficiency, and foster sustainable growth.
