On 7 August 2025, the Indonesian Business Council (IBC) convened its second Members’ Meeting of the year, bringing together its influential network of members and industry leaders for an afternoon of strategic dialogue and collaboration. IBC’s biannual Members’ Meetings provide a platform to review key milestones, outline IBC’s program going forwards, and align IBC’s strategic priorities. 

Discussions at the second Members’ Meeting centered on: 

1. Strengthening public-private partnerships. 
2. Fostering impactful initiatives to advance Indonesia’s business landscape. 
3. Exploring new opportunities for further collaboration between members.

Members exchanged insights and reaffirmed their shared commitment to IBC’s mission of driving inclusive growth. During the meeting, IBC presented updates on key initiatives, including the development of five research papers covering critical themes such as private sector contributions to national development, carbon market opportunities, good governance, financial sector growth, and industrialization strategies.

In addition, IBC formally released three policy recommendations designed to support sustainable economic growth, strengthen institutional governance, and foster innovation in both the public and private sectors.

The event brought together influential business leaders, policymakers, and experts, reinforcing IBC’s role as a thought leader in shaping Indonesia’s economic and policy landscape.

Panel members pushed for tighter focus across several areas: evidence-based policy formulation; deeper analysis on trade and the external balance, including the services sector; and a clearer advocacy approach that treats legal certainty, law enforcement, and anti-corruption as foundational to competitiveness. Human capital was elevated as a strategic track, with emphasis on demand-driven education and vocational alignment with industry needs. Innovation guidance focused on practical downstreaming mechanisms, including stronger Technology Transfer Office management, robust non-disclosure agreements and intellectual property templates, and milestone-based funding models that accelerate adoption and improve industry participation.

On 25 April 2024, the Indonesian Business Council (IBC) held its first Members’ Meeting of the year—a focused roundtable dialogue to shape strategic recommendations for the 2024–2029 administration. The session feeds into IBC’s forthcoming White Paper: “IBC Recommendations to Support the Policy Agenda of the 2024–2029 President and Vice President.”The White Paper is structured around four pillars—Economy, Governance, People, and Innovation, with 15 key focus areas.
