The Indonesia Economic Summit (IES) 2026 officially commenced on February 3 in Jakarta, bringing together more than 1,000 participants from 53 countries to discuss Indonesia’s economic policies and global investment opportunities. Hosted by the Indonesia Business Council (IBC) under the theme “Coming Together to Boost Resilient Growth and Shared Prosperity”, the summit highlighted Indonesia’s role as a key economic anchor in Southeast Asia amid global uncertainties. In his opening speech, Minister Airlangga Hartarto outlined strategies to achieve 8% economic growth and job creation through initiatives like a free meal program. Chair of the Board of Trustees, Arsjad Rasjid, emphasized the need for economic reforms to maintain Indonesia’s investment appeal. Discussions also featured global leaders such as Mary Ng and Erik Berglöf, who focused on accelerating investment, global competitiveness, and green economic development.
