Chief Executive Officer of Indonesian Business Council (IBC) Mr. Sofyan Djalil’s statement regarding the establishment of the organization:
The Indonesian business community recognizes the ever-evolving dynamics and complexities within the global economy, driven especially by advancements and challenges in digital technology, international trade, climate change, geopolitical shifts, sustainable economy and the growing trend in ESG adoption.
In this context, it is even more critical for Indonesia to enhance its competitiveness to progress towards becoming a developed nation and fostering prosperity for its people. We firmly believe that collaboration among the government, private sector, and civil society is essential for the nation’s competitiveness and for achieving sustainable development.
With this awareness, IBC is established as a platform for business and industry leaders to engage in constructive dialog, share insights, and exchange best practices in corporate governance and public policy. Our shared purpose is to become a formidable driving force for Indonesia’s national economy and prosperity.
IBC will promote collaborative effort to establish a transparent, healthy and conducive public policy environment that contributes to the enhancement of Indonesia’s competitiveness. Our work are based on in-depth understanding of data and analysis, rigorous research, combined with insight from industry leaders to provide input to the government and policy makers on issues critical for Indonesia’s advancement.
IBC was founded in February 2023 as an independent, not-for-profit organization and not affiliated with any political party. It is looking forward to work and collaborate with stakeholders from the public sector, private sectors, and civil society to become national economic force for the good of Indonesia.
