JAKARTA – The Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) and the Indonesian Business Council (IBC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on synergistic collaboration and policy innovation to support the planning and implementation of the national development program on Monday (June 30). This strategic public-private partnership is aimed at advancing the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) and bolstering national economic growth through enhanced productivity, innovation, and competitiveness.

Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Rachmat Pambudy, emphasized that high-quality economic growth depends not only on government strength but also on the resilience of the business community. “A hallmark of advanced nations is not just a strong government, but also a robust private sector. When the private sector thrives, regional revenues rise and local economies flourish. Therefore, synergy between government and business is fundamental to achieving sustainable economic growth,” stated Minister Rachmat Pambudy.

The MoU covers cooperation across various areas, including strengthening the economic and financial sector, governance, human resource development, energy transition, and development financing. IBC has also committed to promoting private-sector involvement in national priority initiatives, such as developing the electric vehicle ecosystem and downstreaming strategic industries.

Chair of Board of Trustees IBC, Arsjad Rasjid, said that systematic private-sector engagement is key to reaching quality economic-growth targets. “To achieve Indonesia’s growth targets, the business community stands ready to work hand-in-hand with the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas. This MoU lays the groundwork for a strategic partnership between the private and public sectors, bridging business aspirations with the RPJMN 2025–2029 vision, making the business climate more conducive and accelerating inclusive, sustainable growth,” said Arsjad. CEO of IBC, Sofyan Djalil also affirmed that IBC will strengthen the business sector’s contribution through policy dialogue, regulatory studies, and joint pilot projects with the government.

Concluding his remarks, Minister Rachmat Pambudy noted that this partnership is part of the grand strategy toward the “Golden Indonesia Vision 2045.” “This MoU is not merely ceremonial, but a concrete step to accelerate economic growth and realize the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045. That vision can only be achieved if we move forward together—government, business, and society,” he concluded.
