IBC and KP2MI Join Forces to Drive Global Deployment of Indonesian Talent

KP2MI-IBC

The Indonesian Business Council (IBC) discussed with the Ministry of Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection (KP2MI) on November 7, 2025, to coordinate support for the government’s plan to deploy skilled migrant workers. The meeting is a courtesy engagement with the new Minister to synchronize priorities and operationalize the MoU between IBC and KP2MI. The discussion follows President Prabowo’s directive to expand the deployment of skilled workers and build demand-driven vocational pipelines.

Minister of Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Mukhtarudin, reiterated the government’s target of 500,000 skilled workers overseas placements in 2026, backed by roughly Rp15 trillion for vocational and language training scholarship, with potential remittances of up to Rp90 trillion. He underscored the need for strong private-sector participation throughout the pipeline, acknowledging that most placements are conducted through a P-to-P (private-to-private) scheme.

IBC CEO Sofyan Djalil, welcomed the plan and confirmed readiness to contribute. The approach mirrors IBC’s white-paper recommendations to improve worker quality through pre-departure preparation (language and job skills), expand access to financing, and streamline placement processes.

KP2MI is preparing a milestone for International Migrants Day (18 December). IBC supports the milestone plan and will coordinate progress tracking and communications to keep stakeholders informed.
