IBC Hosts SBF Delegation to Strengthen Partnership and Advance Indonesia–Singapore Economic Cooperation

On 3 September 2026, IBC hosted a leadership lunch with a delegation from the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), led by SBF Chairman Mark Lee, following the signing of the MoU between IBC and SBF in Singapore last July. The meeting provided an opportunity for both organisations to build on the partnership and identify concrete areas for continued collaboration that can support stronger business connectivity and closer economic ties between Indonesia and Singapore.

Discussions highlighted shared priorities around strengthening the competitiveness of Special Economic Zones (SEZs), particularly in Batam, Bintan, and Karimun (BBK), including opportunities to strengthen the role of the private sector in supporting investment, trade, and industrial development across the region. Both sides also exchanged perspectives on energy security and the energy transition, with particular attention to the ASEAN Power Grid and the importance of greater regional connectivity in supporting ASEAN's long-term energy resilience and economic growth.

The meeting also reaffirmed IBC's support for Singapore's ASEAN Chairmanship 2027 and the two organisations' shared interest in using the year to advance practical business-led initiatives and regional engagement. Looking ahead, IBC and SBF will continue exploring opportunities for joint advocacy, business dialogues, and other platforms that can strengthen Indonesia-Singapore economic cooperation and contribute to a more integrated and competitive ASEAN.
