IBC and Singapore's EDB Explore Cooperation in the BBK Region

On 31 July 2026, IBC's Chair of the Board of Trustees, Arsjad Rasjid, and senior leadership , including Chief Executive Officer Sofyan Djalil and Chief Operating Officer William Sabandar, held a productive working meeting with the Chairman of Singapore's Economic Development Board (EDB), Mr. Png Cheong Boon, to discuss expanding opportunities for economic cooperation in the Batam–Bintan–Karimun (BBK) region.

The discussion focused on strengthening cross-border economic collaboration and advancing the BBK area as a strategic growth corridor that complements the longstanding Indonesia–Singapore economic partnership. IBC provided an update on its ongoing collaboration with the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), particularly the joint study to accelerate the development of Indonesia's Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and identify practical measures to enhance their competitiveness and investment attractiveness.

Beyond the joint study, both sides also explored opportunities to deepen institutional cooperation through closer business consultations, policy dialogue, and the facilitation of concrete investment projects that can generate tangible economic impact within the BBK region. The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of IBC and EDB to foster stronger public-private collaboration in the BBK region and beyond.
