On December 3, 2024, IBC and the Business Council of Canada (BCC) hosted a roundtable discussion titled “Indonesia-Canada: Strengthening the Comprehensive Economic Partnership.” The event, held alongside the Canadian Trade Mission to Indonesia and the Philippines, brought together business leaders from both nations.
The session was held following the conclusion of the Canada-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (ICA-CEPA). With the agreement, the business communities are exploring new economic collaboration opportunities. The discussion focused on sectors such as agriculture, clean energy, information technology, and infrastructure.
Indonesia’s Deputy Minister of Trade Ms. Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri and Canada’s Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade, and Economic Development Ms. Mary Ng attended the event. IBC and BCC also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation under the CEPA framework.
