On October 12, 2026, the Indonesian Business Council (IBC) and representatives from several member companies met with visiting Australia–Indonesia Institute (AII) Board members at a dinner hosted by the Australian Embassy in Jakarta. Established by the Australian Government in 1989, AII strengthens mutual understanding and people-to-people, institutional, and cultural connections between the two countries.
Discussions explored how Australia’s strengths in higher education could support Indonesia’s workforce development, including through work placements that help graduates translate academic training into practical skills. Participants also considered opportunities for skilled Indonesian workers to meet Australia’s labor needs, connecting Indonesia’s talent pool with Australian demand while expanding professional opportunities and strengthening ties between businesses in both countries.
This introductory meeting with AII builds on IBC’s long-standing collaboration with Australian partners, from the inaugural Indonesia–Australia Bilateral Business Roundtable at the Indonesia Economic Summit 2026 to IBC’s participation in the Australia Indonesia Business Council National Conference earlier this month. IBC looks forward to continuing this engagement with AII and Australian partners to turn shared interests in education, skills, and workforce development into practical cooperation.
