Indonesia is strengthening global workforce opportunities by sending more skilled professionals abroad, with Japan emerging as a key partner. Through a new partnership between the Ministry of Migrant Workers Protection and the Indonesian Business Council (IBC), more Indonesians will access Japan’s specified skilled worker program, which is set to welcome 820,000 foreign workers by 2029. With over 169,000 Indonesians already working in Japan across nursing, logistics, and manufacturing, this initiative highlights a shift toward professional, high-value placements that enhance skills, improve incomes, and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
